AM I THEREFORE BECOME
YOUR ENEMY, BECAUSE
I TELL YOU THE TRUTH?
GALATIANS 4:16
This was the message on the sign in front of Lake Drummond Baptist Church at the time of this writing.
Why is this?
What kind of trouble are we asking for with this message?
Why would a church put this phrase on their sign?
To begin, the phrase on the sign is a Scripture reference, a Word from God, a warning to those who are living a lie and shows the compassion of the Saviour Who is not willing that any should parish.
Why now?
Starting January 12, 2014, the pastor will lead the church through the Book of Revelation, verse by verse, in a comprehensive study of the unveiling of Jesus Christ to His witnesses. This message series will take us from Revelation 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. It begins with “The Revelation of Jesus Christ” and ends with “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” The revelation of and the grace of . . . it’s all about the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, The Way, the Truth, the Life, the Lamb of God. We will experience the Witnesses of the Lamb in Revelation 1-3, the Worship of the Lamb in Revelation 4-5, the Wrath of the Lamb in Revelation 6-19, the Reign of the Lamb in Revelation 20 and the Wife of the Lamb in Revelation 21-22.
Revelation is the only book in the Bible that begins by promising a special blessing on those who read it, hear it and keep it.
As well, it ends by promising a special curse on those who add to it or take away from it. Truth is Truth . . . you can lie about it, but you can’t change it. It is still Truth.
You may ask, why does Lake Drummond Baptist Church have Galatians 4:16 on its sign if the pastor is preaching from the Book of Revelation?
As we walk through the Book of Revelation we will take up the subjects of Jesus, Himself; the Church; the Resurrection of Saints; the Great Tribulation; Satan; the man of sin; false religion; the Times of the Gentiles; and the Second Coming of Christ.
We will read the most detailed description in the Bible of the ascended Christ. The most vivid description of Heaven in all Scripture is in the Book of Revelation.
Histories most severe judgments are recorded, which includes the judgment of the seals, the trumpet, the vials, and others. There are some 20 main judgments discussed in this book.
John provides the most detailed description of the Great White Throne. Scriptures’ most frightening description of Hell is included. This is the only Biblical book to describe both the Antichrist and his false prophet. The most vivid accounts of Armageddon and the Second Coming are portrayed. John foresees the world’s greatest earthquake and hail storm.
The Book of Revelation shows the Grace of God along side of the Wrath of God. Our Father has given us a clear view of what will be and it is our responsibility to share the word of our testimony with all who will hear. So . . . why Galatians 4:16?
What does Galatians 4:16 ask?
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
The Truth has many enemies since many would rather live a lie than dwell in the Truth. As the Truth is preached at Lake Drummond and in many other churches, lines will be drawn in the sand and decisions will be made as to the solidity of the walk and faith of the believer. Those not willing to stand on the Truth will fall away. Some who fall away will not blame themselves for their stumbling in the dark but will want to shoot the messenger. So . . .
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
