2016 is right around the corner. We’ve had to tighten our belt and do some ministry within, deal with growing pains and shed tears as we’ve said our farewells to members called to other parts of the United States. 2015 has seen its share of ministry needs and Lake Drummond has answered the call.
Spring saw our Studentz cleaning yards and helping the elderly. In June, our Studentz served with other churches in “Serve the City” and did clean-up, handicapped ramps, roof repairs and backyard Bible Studies. In July, our Studentz didn’t attend Studentz Camp. No, they served 10 different projects in Norfolk and Chesapeake through SHRMP (South Hampton Roads Mission Project). In this mission, there were 1403 enrolled, 3040 fed and 159 saved! Then in August we had one of the best Vacation Bible Schools in anyone’s memory of having VBS. September found us revamping our Awana Clubs with the start of the School season. We’ve had baptisms throughout the year with one at Sandbridge for an off campus service!
The time spent in Romania was phenomenal. 125 Romanians confessed Jesus during the medical mission in five different villages! The pastors in Romania are doing such a great job of planting churches that we are training men to assume churches as pastors as most pastors are serving 3 or more churches! We must pray as a church to learn how we can be led of God in this matter.
The Ladies Christmas Tea was a great success as one saw the need of Jesus in her life and submitted to the Saviour’s call. Dan, the choir, musicians and all who were involved blessed us with “Walk To Bethlehem” which, by the way, was written and directed by our very own Dan Edwards. And to top it all off, we had 44 people show up for Christmas Caroling.
What a blessing it has been to serve as Pastor to such a Church. My prayer is to see the individual evangelism testimonies such as—the young lady who shares Jesus with her school mate and leads her to Jesus, or the young man witnessing to his muslim school mate. We must step out of our comfort zone and tell the Truth to a world in love with a lie. I pray you will spend more time inviting family and friends to church this year. I pray that you will consider serving in a new and fresh way this year to see others come to repentance in faith. I pray a Godly woman hears the call of our Father to serve our newest additions in nursery care petitioning the Father for these babies among us to grow in faith and nurture through God’s Holy Word.
I pray each and everyone knows Jesus as Lord this holiday season and every day.
May you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Blessings from my KING!
Pastor Buddy
