Christmas Times a Comin’

Christmas Time’s A-Comin’
Christmas Time’s A-Comin’
Christmas Time’s A-Comin’
And I know I’m goin’ home.

As I look forward to the Christmas Season with my family and friends this song just will not stop playin’ in my head.  I’ve always enjoyed the holiday season and songs from the past have a way of bringing back memories long gone.

This season we celebrate the birth of our Saviour and Lord with more friends than we had last year, More brothers and sisters in Christ than we had last year, and a church that is growing in Christ and in His Spirit.  On the other hand, we celebrate this time without the presence of some who have gone on before us since last Christmas.

Christmas Time’s A-Comin’

Christmas time has a way of bringing out the kid in all of us.  It’s a time to remember but also a time to make memories.  It’s a time to remember the reason for the season.  Jesus was born!  He was not only born — He was born of a virgin.  He was not only born of a virgin — he lived a perfect life.  Why would He do that?  To be the perfect sacrifice for your sins and mine.

Christmas Time’s A-Comin’

Jesus was born so that He could die.  “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.”  He was given that we might have eternal life in Him.

Christmas Time’s A-Comin’

He was given that we might not only live in Him but that we would one day be called home to meet Him in the air to live and reign with Him forever.

And I know I’m goin’ home.

Kind of brings about a whole new meaning to that ol’ Christmas song, don’t it?  If you believe Jesus died for your sins on the cross and that He was buried and that He arose the third day from the grave, you too can experience this eternal life that is called salvation — the gift from heaven.  Won’t you confess Jesus as Lord to be your Saviour that you may know beyond any shadow of doubt that no matter what may come you’ll know you’re goin’ home when He calls.

May you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Yer Bro-in-Christ,

Pastor Buddy
